The Thief Part 1 and 2

Updated Lyrics for "The Thief Part 1 and 2" on our upcoming E.P. Release "The Children Have Grown"

I am the thief on the run.
Wanted posters trail my steps.
In this house I make my way to find it empty.
They knew I was coming.
This all was a set up.

It's time to face the law.
If it's a fight they want, then that's what they are going to get from me.

Thunder shouts from my hand;
they return the favor.
I can't believe my hands,
instruments of the Maker.

I'm hit by the law.
To the floor, falls a victim.
This is it, my time has come to die.

I feel the warmth leave,
as the life pours out of me.
Now I know what I believe.
I die a thief and no one weeps.

This is the last breath;
(Tell the world my story.)
Smell the stench of death.
(How the law destroyed me.
How the law became me.)

I've got some fight left in me,
Let us dance one last song.
Maybe you can join the free.
Maybe you can die and see:

This is what it feels like to lose everything.
To lose everything might be what you need.
Come close, we'll see if you can bleed.
Give me opportunity to set you free.

One last stand,
I raise my hand.
I invite you to the ground.
I command you: "Fall down!"
You will fall.

Your gun up to my head tonight,
Means I get a good look at your face and you see mine.
You see the fear missing from both my eyes.
You seem so surprised that my farewell ends with a smile.

This chase ends where it begins: "from dust to dust."
I leave you with one last cry: "Death is the next step in life."
