I’m the thief on the run.
Wanted posters trail my steps.
In this house I make my way,
To find it empty.

They knew I was coming.

It’s time to face the law.
If it’s a fight they want,
Then that’s what they will get from me.
Thunder shouts from my hand.
They return the favor.

One last stand,
I raise my hand.

I’m hit by the law.

So this is what it feels like to lose everything.
At least I won’t have anything.
I feel the warmth leave,
As the life pours out of me.

Maybe you can join the free.

To put your gun to my head,
Means I get a good look at your face,
And you see mine.
You see the fear missing from my eyes.
You seem so surprised.

Death is the next step in life.
